Candid Conversations

Tolstoy said: "All art has this characteristic: it unites people."

I agree. Art allows us to be vulnerable. To open up. To reveal our deepest feelings. It also gives us a means through which difficult discussions can be had, and this is why I have chosen to create "Just a Peek, Please?"

To foster conversations about Islam in America. To allow people to ask their questions about Muslim women. To permit disagreement and discussion, in a "safe space."

The opening reception for "Loud Print" at the Carollwood Cultural Center was just that. A group of about 30 people shared their thoughts, asked questions, disagreed (respectfully,) and shared an evening of constructive conversation. I am looking forward to the next opportunity!
